MTech UDR receiver family 3 Years, 6 Months ago
The only receiver that was tested at this time with openmokast is the MTech UDR-A3L. We believe that the entire UDR family of receivers should work with openmokast so we would like to have feedback from the users.

Please reply to this post if you have tested with a different UDR receiver.

Just to say the project is very interesting, the best on this topic on the web!
I personally tested the Albrecht DR-403, with good results.

Re:MTech UDR receiver family 3 Years, 3 Months ago
I tried Openmokast on Albrecht DR-403
attached to my Desktop PC (Intel quadcore).
I had to recompile
openmokast-0.6.tar.gz
(Ubuntu 9.10-x86_64).
DAB RF signals and Eti offline file decoded .
But in Rome, Italy, on air a lot of DAB+
stations ( 4 ensembles ~ 45 services)
Any hope to get DAB+ decoding quite soon?
Anyhow ..congratulations.. nice work.. and many thanks !

@Francesco

Thanks for the good words.

As you may understand, most media encoders and decoders are licensed technologies which can not be easily distributed at large.

We will eventually release our DAB+ decoder but I cannot provide any time frame at this point.

Francois.

What about a distribution at 'small' ,that
is 'source only' to a 'small community',
people able and willing to recompile/build
things ?
Same caveat as DREAM program (decodes
DigitalRadioMondiale).
www.audiocoding.com has AAC+SBR source code.
As Albrecht Ds 403 owner I paid already
royalties (dabMATE binary software included)
..a borderline agreement!

I have the MTech UDR-M1 which I am having difficulty in getting to work with Openmokast. I am running Ubuntu 9.10: "lsusb" detects the device, but none of the GUI options make it work. I am relatively new to Linux, and I have checked that the M1 is working under windows. I have the original M1 CD if that helps.

Hi Paul,

The most likely cause of your problem can be resolved by following the procedure described in step 4 of http://openmokast.org/download.html#ubuntu

Could you also make sure that you have installed the version openmokast_0.6.3 because previous version are causing problem with Ubuntu 9.10

Please don't hesitate to post back if you still have an issue after trying these.

Re:MTech UDR receiver family 3 Years, 2 Months ago
Jean-Michel,

I have confirmed that I am using version 0.6.3.
I think that I have already tried the step described, but to be certain I have repeated it, this is the result I get back:

$ sudo /etc/init.d/udev restart
Rather than invoking init scripts through /etc/init.d, use the service(8)
utility, e.g. service udev restart

Since the script you are attempting to invoke has been converted to an
Upstart job, you may also use the restart(8) utility, e.g. restart udev
udev start/running, process 5964

Which receiver should I select in the GUI; MTech UDR-A3 or Terratec DrBox1? Should I attach the receiver before starting the software or after? I have tried various combinations without success.

Thanks,

Paul

Re:MTech UDR receiver family 3 Years, 2 Months ago
You should definitely choose the MTech UDR-A3 in the GUI but in your case because it is an M1 I'm not 100% sure that Openmokast will support it.

A good test would be to check if the lsusb line for your receiver matches this one: "Bus 003 Device 002: ID 03eb:6520 Atmel Corp."

If not there are not many chances that the UDR-M1 receiver is supported in Openmokast. Maybe a small change in the code would be required but I never had the chance to get an M1 receiver to try it.

Please update us with the result of your lsusb.

lsusb gives:

Bus 001 Device 008: ID 04b4:7777 Cypress Semiconductor Corp.

so I guess the M1 is not supported.
Thanks for your help with this.
