What audio bitrate will I get? 5 Years, 5 Months ago
The DAB+ encoder we use does not allow for constant bitrate encoding (CBR). For this reason, we ask for the desired subchannel bitrate and NOT the audio bitrate in the WAPP interface. We then try to maximize the audio bitrate that we can put in this fixed subchannel, taking into account the peaks of the audio signal, which are far from ideal.

This process results in a compatible DAB+ subchannel but with two limitations:
- You have no control over the HE-AAC encoding bitrate. The final AAC bitrate will be a result of our iterative encoding process.
- The non-CBR encoding results in non-optimal subchannel capacity usage (padding).

Of course, such an iterative process can not be used for real-time encoding.
