Typical radio station callsign will begin with the letter "C" or "V" and have a total of 3 to 4 characters.

Industry Canada assigns a unique PI code for each FM radio station in Canada. These codes should be transmitted via the FM-RDS channel associated to each station.  Considering the current interest for new hybrid FM-Internet applications such as RadioDNS, the present tool should help ensure a consistent use of PI codes in Canada. RadioDNS relies on PI codes to associate an FM radio station with its enhancing content on the Internet. Bad or wrongly associated codes could have undesirable consequences on hybrid enabled devices.

Use this tool to compute Canadian FM PI codes based on their respective callsigns. Enter a callsign and press "Compute" to get the corresponding PI code.

Please note that PI codes for CBC FM radio stations are managed internally and therefore not taken into account in this calculator. CBC PI codes range from Bx02 to Bx09, where x = [1, F].

For more details on Canadian PI codes, please refer to Industry Canada website.
